The year 2019 has already unfolded as a delightful tapestry of love, coffee, and exploration. Just about a week ago, I found myself in the enchanting city of Seattle, a place that truly took my breath away (yes, I couldn’t resist singing the Frasier theme song while wandering its streets). The breathtaking views and undulating hills created a landscape that left me in awe, even if they didn’t burst into song like in a Julia Andrews movie.
Being a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, my journey wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the very first Starbucks and the myriad of local cafes that Seattle boasts. Each local spot added its own touch of amazing to the experience. This trip was nothing short of fantastic, reinforcing my belief that well-traveled individuals often emerge as great leaders. Traveling opens up avenues to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.
During my flight to Seattle, serendipity introduced me to a wonderful older couple who, in a matter of days, became like adopted parents for my trip. Their warmth extended even to the flight back to Chicago, where they eagerly embraced me. This human connection exemplifies the essence of leadership—caring for those entrusted to you and leading with compassion.
I encourage you to embrace travel as frequently as you can. Each journey is an opportunity to uncover the richness of human connections and cultivate the qualities of a compassionate leader. So, my darlings, leave no stone unturned in your adventures!
