When Life Gives You Lemons… Make a John Daly!

I’m in my Meghan Sussex era! What does that mean? It means working while living in my creativity and dreams—despite what outside forces may think or say.

But let’s rewind a bit, shall we?

I was recently laid off from a job where I spent over three years as an SEO Analyst. That role taught me how to manage and work with clients across the tourism industry, fine-tune digital strategies, and navigate the ever-changing world of SEO. I’ve always believed that a job shouldn’t define you, but I’d be lying if I said this one didn’t become a big part of my identity. I poured so much into it, and I was proud of my position. I guess I’m human after all!

Even though there were murmurs about layoffs, I was still shocked when the news hit. Sad? Yes. Disheartened? Maybe for a moment. But here’s the thing—I refuse to let a job loss define my future. Instead, I’ll take everything I learned and apply it to whatever the universe has in store for me next.

And that brings us back to my good sis Meghan Sussex.

She’s out here living in her truth, building her brand, and finding joy in the things that matter most to her. Her new show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix? A whole vibe. It has completely reignited my love for baking and cooking—especially in my beautiful new kitchen. There’s something so peaceful about getting lost in the process of mixing, kneading, and creating something from scratch.

Lately, with everything happening in my life (and let’s be real, the world in general), I’ve been leaning into the little things that bring joy—writing, baking, and finding new creative outlets. This is the time to find peace in the small moments and trust that what’s meant for me is already on its way.

So, when life gives you lemons, don’t just make lemonade. Make a John Daly. Make a masterpiece. Make something that fuels your soul.

Here’s to fresh starts, new beginnings, and the unexpected joys that come along the way.
